DESCRIPTION
This artwork was inspired by the pioneering female aviator, Amelia Earhart.
TECHNIQUE
Amelia the Aviatress (On Board) was created by photographing a hand-cut collage of fashion portraiture and illustrations of birds. The digital negative was then contact printed onto paper that had been hand-brushed with chemicals, before drying in a dark room. Once exposed to light, the piece was washed to develop a cyan blue colour.
