Handprinted on Fabriano Artistico Traditional Watercolour Paper
This artwork was inspired by Amelia Earhart, the pioneering female aviator and advocate for gender equality and defying cultural norms.
Bust Of Amelia At Midnight was created by photographing a hand-cut collage of fashion portraiture and illustrations of birds. The digital negative was then contact printed onto paper that had been hand-brushed with chemicals, before drying in a dark room.
Exposed to daylight for days, it was then washed to develop a cyan blue colour and press dried.
