Fun in Brooklyn: My Experience at The Other Art Fair

This fall's edition of The Other Art Fair Brooklyn, presented by SaatchiArt and held from November 9 to 12 at ZeroSpace, marked a special milestone for me — it was my third time exhibiting in New York, and it was again an exhilarating experience.

The Other Art Fair, a global gathering of creative minds, is unique in its approach to art. It transcends traditional boundaries, offering a platform where art is not just viewed but experienced in its most dynamic forms. This ethos aligns perfectly with my artistic philosophy, making each participation a joyous and fulfilling experience.

This edition of the fair in Brooklyn was a great success. The new location in Gowanus, surrounded by artist studios, added an authentic, creative pulse to the event. I was thrilled to so see many of my pieces find new homes, especially my statement works like On The Wings Of Courage. Inspired by Bessie Coleman, the pioneering African American aviator, this multi-layered, 3-dimensional artwork now proudly sits by the Brooklyn waterfront, overlooking Manhattan.

Connecting with both new and current collectors is always a highlight for me. The interactions, the shared enthusiasm for art, and the stories that unfold around each piece are experiences I treasure. The art fair team, as always, were outstanding, providing a seamless and highly curated experience that made the event enjoyable for both artists and visitors alike.

The camaraderie among the artists never ceases to amaze. Meeting so many talented individuals and sharing the experience with the visiting UK crew is always a pleasure. The fair fosters a sense of community and collaboration, creating a fertile ground for creative exchange and a never-ending source of inspiration.

Each edition of The Other Art Fair is a unique adventure, and this year was no exception. From immersive installations to engaging performances, the fair offers an escape from the mundane, urging visitors to dive into the world of art and emerge with new perspectives. It's a space where art feels accessible and inclusive, resonating with the belief that art should be an experience for everyone.

The Other Art Fair isn't just about viewing art; it's about forging a connection with it and the people behind it. Meeting over 100 artists in person, sharing their journey, and understanding their inspirations is an invaluable aspect of the fair. It's a global creative community where everyone belongs, whether you're a seasoned collector or new to the art scene.

My experience at The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn this year was a testament to the power of creating art. It was a reminder that in the world of art, there's always something new to discover, a new story to tell, and a new adventure to embark on. As I look forward to my next participation in 2024, I am filled with excitement for what the future holds in this ever-evolving landscape of creativity.
